“The Westing Game” by Ellen Raskin

In “The Westing Game”, competition brings together an assortment of quirky families as they race to win the Westing Game. The characters in this novel are well-developed and believable, and in the end you will feel as though you were right there in the story with all of them. The plot has many twists and turns, and the reader will race with the characters to use their clues and solve the game. The writing was wonderful and I read the whole book in one exciting weekend. Which of the sixteen heirs will win the prize? Try to find out as you soak in the delectable, cozy, and mysterious atmosphere of this Newberry book. For an action-packed book not unlike Rick Riordan’s 39 Clues series, read “The Westing Game” by Ellen Raskin!
